New & Noteworthy

Kochi and Xu’s Public House are added to this week’s New & Noteworthy list and Hutong is coming off as it isn’t so new now. I have been bemused to see that the reviews coming in for Hutong, mainly because the kudos seem to be given begrudgingly from the New York Times, New York Magazine and Eater to the The New Yorker. Fanciness and super astronomical prices are okay at The Grill but somehow this luxe Chinese restaurant which is not far off prices you would find at Red Farm feels like it is getting judged with a grain of MSG. Anyhoo, I add Kochi, a Korean tasting menu from Chef Sungchul Shim, who previously worked at Neta and Per Se. I also add Xu Public House which has little news around it but Robert Sietsema enjoyed a few dishes there.
